So, I got my oil changed while I was out and about this morning and when I got back to my apartment complex I started fishing out air filter from my front fender to clean it when one of the apartment managment weinies comes up to me and asks me if I've got a flat tire. I tell him no, I'm just trying to clean my air filter. He gets a bit upset and tells me that the managment would really prefer it if the tennants wouldn't work on their cars in the car port or parking lot.
Talk about annoying.

I know the feeling....not only does my complex give me problems when I work on my car....I also have two cars(one race/one daily) along with my girlfriends car....they have been giving problems about that....the rules say only two cars per condo..the worst part is I own the condo there..you would think they would give me a break....man I hate the condo commando's!!!!

I have the same dilema. I've been caught installing hood pins by the management. They explained that for insurance reasons they don't want tenants working on their cars in the garage. Apparantly they aren't covered for things if someone was working on their car and accidently sets fire to the place.
But, anyway, I am in constant paranoia when I do so much as remove spark plugs to check the mixture.
This is why I work on the car during the later hours. A number of tenants have caught me but no-one has ratted me out....yet.
